Lehman College

Lehman College is known as senior College of the City University of New York in New York UnitedState. The College was funded in 1931 as the Bronx campus of Hunter College. In September, 1967 the school became an independents college. More than 90 underrate and graduate degree programs and specialization and it is a public college the college was named. During the Hunter College in the Bronx, and Hunter based the Bronx building to the United State Navy during the Second World War time, through this building used the facilities to train 95,000 women volunteers for military service as
WAVES and SAPARS. In 2009 Sgt. Miriam Cohen died, she was the one of the fist of its graduate.
In the first class of WWII women Marines graduated by Miriam on Feb 13, 1943/ The Navy moved out of the campus during that time the site was briefly occupied by the nascent United Nations. In 1946 which held its first Security Council Session at the Bronx Campus. Lehman College's established president was Leonard Leif and he was succeeded by Ricardo R.Fernandez. The campus situated near the Jerome Park Reservoir at 250 Bed-ford Park Boulevard.
This College has occupied a 37 acre of land and campus with a combination of collegiate Gothic and modern architecture. Kerr Rains ford, and Gerald A. Holmes, John A. Thompson were architects of school. On New York Upper East Side they had earlier designed archdiocesan cathedral of holy trinity.

In the military the World War II the campus was the main national training ground for women. In Lehman College only the girls students were studies before the entry of the United State in the second world war, only women students attended and talking their two years of study at the Bronx campus then Hunter's Manhattan was transferring to complete their undergraduate work. In 1946 theLehman College is also the interim headquarters for the newly formed United Nation for six month.
